KOCHI: Bhavan’s Institute of Media Studies (BIMS) of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has invited application for its visual media courses for 2011-12.The courses offered are one-year postgraduate diploma course in television journalism and diploma course in digital film making. Graduates in any discipline can apply for the course in television journalism. Candidates who have passed Plus-Two can apply for the digital film making course.Both the courses are designed for those who are looking for working in the television field. Students at BIMS get practical training in all aspects of the work related to the making of TV programmes. By the time they come out of the institute, they will be able to do any job related to the production of television programmes. The first batch of students of BIMS are working in different Malayalam television channels now, officials at BIMS said.Application form and prospectus can be had on request with a DD of Rs 500 in favour of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan payable at Kochi on or before June 30. The last date for receiving applications is July 10. Classes will be begin by the end of July.
