MYSORE: Within a day, Devaraja Police cracked the murder of a woman, arresting the three accused on Friday.The accused are Manjunatha alias Manju (26), Adithya alias Mani (22) and Chandra (26). Another accused is yet to be arrested.The main accused Manjunatha allegedly murdered his aunt HN Latha (40), wife of assistant public prosecutor MD Raghu, with the help of the other two.During interrogation, Manjunath admitted to strangling Latha with a belt and said that he hated her as she spoke ill about his brideto- be.According to the Commissioner of Police, Manjunatha had taken his aunt out to help him purchase ornaments and clothes for his forthcoming wedding. At 12.15 pm on June 29, he picked her up from her house on Hunsur road along with her two-and-a-half-year-old son Adarsha.When Latha’s husband Raghu came home for lunch from the Court, he found the house locked.Even after he returned in the evening, he did not find his wife and son in the house.He filed a missing complaint with Devaraja Police on June 29, suspecting his brother’s son Manjunatha role.Devaraja Police Inspector Shanthamallappa swung into action and two teams led by Inspectors Shanthamallappa and Yashavantha Kumar were sent to Periyapatna.Based on clues, the accused were arrested in Periyapatna.They admitted to killing Latha in the car in which they travelled near Yelwala on the same day, and threw the body in an isolated place near Bhagamandala in Kodagu district.
