In its ongoing drive to tighten grip over the urban network of Maoists, the Chhattisgarh police has arrested three more alleged Naxal conduits and seized cash and ammunitions from them in Kanker district of north Bastar region.

The trio, identified as Dashrath Mandavi, Rajkumar Mandavi and Laxman Mandavi, all residents of Kanker were arrested on Saturday from their native place, Raipur Superintendent of Police OP Pal said.

Forty seven live cartridges, gelatins, detonators and Rs 11,500 cash were recovered from their possession, he said.

The conduits were allegedly involved in the movement of cash, supplying essential commodities to Naxals inside core forest, besides accompanying senior cadres during their travel in several parts of the region, Pal said.

Dashrath had a key role in transferring cash while Rajkumar was the close aide of divisional committee commander of Mad region Prabhakar, who is reportedly handling the Naxal supply channel in Bastar region, he said.

With this arrest, a total of 17 Naxal couriers, including two prominent businessmen who were a part of the urban channel of the outlawed CPI(Maoist), have been nabbed in the state in the past two months.
