Toyota Kirloskar Motor held its Etios Motor Racing (EMR) exhibition Race to launch their new brand campaign called ‘Waku Doki’, meaning excitement. The exhibition race was held in the city for two days ending Sunday.

The race saw the participation of 25 young racers from different parts of India. The racers were selected and trained by experts in the field of racing and rallying.

Hiroshi Nakagawa, managing director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said that EMR would soon be considered as the best platform to provide grassroots level training for young drivers. “EMR will help young drivers learn and make their way up the motorsport ladder.” he added.

Vikram Kirloskar, vice-chairman, Toyota Kirloskar, opined that with the emergence of EMR many youngsters will take to motorsport and train passionately.

“The overwhelming response we got from the EMR driver selection is proof that more and more youngsters are working towards a career in motorsports and Toyota is looking forward to being a part of their training and growth in the sport.” he said.

Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director – Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said that the exhibition race will help take the brand of Toyota to the people. “The race is one of our many efforts to take the Toyota brand closer to customers and motorsports enthusiasts.” he said. A host of on and off track activities like Celebrity races, SUV Zone, Karting Zone, Children’s Learning Zone and ‘Design your EMR Car’ were organised during the race, which also witnessed the participation of two guest drivers Akira lida, a Japanese driver and Ben Collins formerly known as the Stig.
