TIRUMALA: Archaeological Society of India (ASI) and Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) have decided to consider all avenues and possibilities, which are in the best interest of temples and at the same time, beneficial to visiting pilgrims.ASI officials meeting TTD officials, here on Wednesday, made a point, in wake of objections to certain rituals at the Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram during Brahmotsavams. The TTD had said that it would adhere to rules that no construction within 300 metre radius of ASI protected temples would be undertaken and would also see to it that no nailing would be done to structure for illumination. On the issue of arathi, TTD said that with help of heat gauging devices, it would see how many arathis could be done in the permissible levels of temperature and restrict numbers to it, so there will not be any heat affecting the structure.Speaking to mediapersons, TTD EO, L V Subramanyam said that they discussed improvements needed for temple in view of increasing pilgrim influx. He said that they have submitted a 38-point-proposal to ASI.He said that they have also discussed developmental activities to be taken up in museums.Agama pundits, cautioned TTD and ASI to ensure that no renovation at temples is done during Brahmotsavams and ensure that no one is present on gopurams.
