UGC NET results: rules altered, candidates disaffected
After publication of the UGC NET results, UGC has allegedly altered the qualification norms.

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has published the National Eligibility Test (NET) results on September 18. After publication of the results, UGC allegedly altered the qualification norms by stating that candidates belonging to the general category needed to score an aggregate of 65 per cent for all three of the NET's papers to become eligible for college and university lectureship. This has led to disaffection among those who appeared for the test.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) results for the National Eligibility Test (NET) are available at http://ugcnetonline.in/Result_june2012.pdf. Candidates can tally their roll numbers against those declared selected. About 5,71,627 candidates sat for the test on June 24, 2012.

43,957 candidates have qualified the test and as many as 3,625 candidates have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), a UGC statement released earlier read.
