Jhansi: Soon after the mass cheating episode came to light in Bihar, yet another grim picture of cheating in examinations was witnessed in Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
Students in Jhansi assaulted their professor for trying to prevent them from cheating in their college exams. A Samajwadi Party student leader was among those who thrashed the teacher. The incident has been caught on camera.
The video surfaces at a time when the Bihar government is under the dock for a mass cheating during state Board matriculation exams in the state. While 760 students have been expelled over the mass cheating racket in Bihar, eight policemen have also been arrested for aiding students in cheating.
Visuals showed parents and helpers scaling three to four storey exam centres to pass on chits to their wards.
The Patna High Court had also on Friday pulled up the state Education Minister PK Sahi for saying that the government alone cannot ensure 100 per cent cheating-free examinations of this huge magnitude and that the onus falls on parents.
