Veteran RSP leader and former minister K Pankajakshan, 84, died here on Tuesday due to age-related ailments. He was undergoing treatment at Medical College Hospital.

Pankajakshan, former national general secretary of RSP, was first elected to the Assembly from Trivandrum II constituency in 1970.

He won the Assembly polls in 1977, 80, 82 and 87 and handled the portfolios of Public Works and Labour in the ministries of Achutha Menon, K Karunakaran, A K Antony, P K Vasudevan Nair and E K Nayanar.
