Vidya Malvade's most expensive indulgence: Rs 65 k for shoes!

The Chak De India girl Vidya Malvade has come a long way after her pilot husband, Captain Arvind Singh Bagga passed away in an air crash in 2000. At a recent fashion week, we got Vidya to share her spending, shopping and style mantras. Read on for all the dope.

MY SIZE BEST-EST

I am wearing Babita Malkani's outfit, she especially made it for me. Normally, they make a size 8 or size 10 but this is a size 6, which is what I am.

Vidya's Accessory Tips:

Bangles are in

"But I prefer my watch, bracelet and ring."

Go minimal

"I haven't got anything in my ears right now"

Dress for the occasion

"It just depends on where you are and where are you going. It's daytime so I don't want to wear too much anyways. If it were night now, I might be slightly more bright."

Bag's the word! Vidya's tips:

  • Go funky
  • Go big
  • Go for variety

"My bag is from Charles & Keith. I bought it from the Singapore Airport. I liked it very much, and it looked very nice and funky to me so I picked it up."

Salary talk

I was in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago; I found it to be fabulous. Really exciting and great!

Splurge-fest

The most expensive in my closet has to be the diamonds. Most of my salary and payments are spent in buying them. With regards to shoes and dresses; I picked up a pair of shoes sometime back. They cost Rs 65,000! But then again, that was a bit of a time when I just wanted to splurge, full on! Then there are times when you just say no. That's just how I am. It all depends on my mood.

@ home

I am most happy wearing sarongs and gungies. It's really hot these days, so it's nice to wear these maxi-dresses and skirts because you have air circulation. The comfort factor is maximum.

I don't like to wear jeans in this weather. But, if it gets a bit colder in the next couple of months then I will wear a lot of jeans, tees and sweaters. Jackets on top is also a good style statement.

Vidya's Skincare Tips

Make-up no-no

"Try and wear minimal make-up."

Proper skin cleansing

"Get rid of make-up as soon as you reach home."

Flush out toxins

"Drink lots of water, it helps! Green tea helps too."

What's your reaction?
