Water supply: Centre sanctions Rs 10 crore

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a letter sent to Shashi Tharoor MP, Union Minister for Urban Development Kamal Nath has informed that he has approved the release of further instalments of Additional Central Assistance (ACA) to the tune of Rs 10.45 crore in respect of the ongoing water supply improvement project for the city under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).Tharoor said that the allocation of this fresh Central assistance would go a long way in meeting the additional demands for funds for the project necessitated by the recent addition of wards from outlying areas to the City Corporation’s original area.
