KOCHI: The E Balanandan Research Foundation, an institution established in memory of veteran Communist leader E Balanandan and aimed at research on working class ideology and organisations, has launched its website. Launching the website (www.ebalanandanrf.in), CPM Ernakulam district secretary M V Govindan said the website contained information on almost all the subjects related to the trade union and Communist movements, socio-economic development and rural development. The website also contains abstracts on the life of Balanandan. It also features pictures and videos of the great moments of his life. The website, developed using free software, is free to use. Senior leader M M Lawrence said that Balanandan was an uncompromising Communist and a thorough trade unionist who contributed immensely to the political spheres and in building up the working class movement in the country.As one of the first initiative, the E Balanandan Research Foundation in association with the Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, Cusat, is organising a national seminar on ‘Global Finance capital Marginalised Majorities and Limited Transparency - Lessons for ensuring an inclusive India’ on September 28. Former Supreme Court judge Justice N Santosh Hegde will inaugurate the seminar. Keynote address will be delivered by Kerala State Planning Board vice-chairman K M Chandrasekhar. The theme paper will be presented by Prabhat Patnaik. Kerala Higher Education Council chairman K N Panikker will be the chairman of the technical session, former finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac will also speak.
