BANGALORE: Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and Governor H R Bhardwaj seem to be heading for another faceoff. Bhardwaj on Friday said in categorical terms that he would take action on the recommendations of Lokayukta Santosh N Hegde's report on illegal mining, which had indicted the Chief Minister.
"Whatever he (Hegde) recommends, I will go according to that. I am not going to do anything else," Bhardwaj told reporters on the sidelines of a function, and made it clear that he was the only constitutional authority who could act against the CM.Asked to elaborate, the Governor said: "You will know my action the moment I get the report. And if, as a competent authority, he (Lokayukta) sends the report to me, then I will deal with it according to the Lokayukta Act (Section 12 and 13)".
