Woman delivers outside hospital in Jammu and Kashmir in sub-zero temperature

Srinagar: A woman delivered a baby girl right outside a hospital in Jammu and Kashmir in freezing, sub-zero temperature. The baby, who has jaundice, is doing fine, according to CNN-IBN's Mufti Islah.The woman, who is from Kupwara district's Kukroosa village, 100 km from Srinagar, was carried to the hospital by villagers, trudging through three feet of snow. But on reaching the hospital, the woman gave birth to the baby girl outside the premises as no doctor or nurse were present to attend to her.The hospital staff explained their absence by blaming an ongoing army crackdown. The army has refuted this saying patients were not stopped from seeking treatment. The photo has been sent by Islah.
