Woman, girl drown in trench

WARANGAL: A woman and a seven-year-old girl  drowned when they accidentally fell into a sand quarry trench near Khanapuram village of Thorur mandal on Friday. The mishap occurred when they went to wash clothes.  The police suspect that first the girl Lakshmi might have fallen into the trench and later Rajitha trying to save the girl also might have fallen into to it and died. People who went for fishing noticed the bodies and alerted the villagers. DSP Ramadevi said that a case has been registered against the quarry owner.
