BANGALORE: Namma Metro crossed another hurdle on Monday, when the Commissioner of Railway Safety gave his clearance for conducting the oscillation trials.Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Circle, Secunderabad, D K Singh who also has been given the additional charge as CRS, Southern Circle, Bangalore told City Express, “We are satisfied with the documents submitted by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL). I have communicated my approval for Bangalore metro and now they are supposed to approach the Railway Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO).BMRCL had run into a major hurdle after the RDSO official listed flaws with the track structure and schedule of dimension of Namma Metro, following which the Bangalore metro now will have to get a new speed certificate.The Commissioner of Railway Safety granted the approval in the afternoon, however, even till evening the RDSO was yet to be notified. “We are yet to receive any communication but as soon as we are notified, the concerned department will send in a team to Bangalore,” RDSO, Executive Director (Administration), A K Mathur said.BMRCL, however told City Express that after getting confirmation from the commissioner of safety, Bangalore Metro has notified the RDSO. “After getting the sanction from CRS, we have approached the RDSO for conducting Oscillation trials and Emergency Brake Distance (EBD) trials,” said BLY Chavan, BMRCL, engineer and spokesperson.
