The Russian nationals on Tuesday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a soulful rendition of a ‘Krishna Bhajan’ following his arrival in Kazan to attend the 16th BRICS Summit with other world leaders.
In a cheering display of cultural exchange, the Russian citizens performed the bhajan, a devotional song dedicated to Lord Krishna, for PM Modi, captivating the space with the spiritual showcase.
The video depicted PM Modi listening to the melodious devotional tune with his hands folded, showcasing Indian culture on the global stage. He further acknowledged the heartfelt gesture of the Russians.

Earlier, PM Modi witnessed a dance performance by the artists of the Russian community at Hotel Korston in Kazan where he arrived to attend the BRICS Summit, being held under the Chairmanship of Russia. Besides, the Prime Minister also interacted with the members of the Indian diaspora at Hotel Korston in Kazan.

Modi In Russia: All Eyes On India’s Move At BRICS
Before his departure to Russia, PM Modi underscored ties between New Delhi and Moscow, saying that his second visit to Russia this year will further boost the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between both countries.
PM Modi further noted that India attaches “immense importance” to the grouping. “India values the close cooperation within BRICS which has emerged as an important platform for dialogue and discussion on issues concerning the global developmental agenda, reformed multilateralism, climate change, economic cooperation, building resilient supply chains, promoting cultural and people-to-people connect, among others.”
At the BRICS Summit 2024, themed ‘Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,’ the Prime Minister is expected to hold a bilateral-level discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Besides Putin, the Prime Minister is likely to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as hold bilateral talks with leaders from the other BRICS member nations.
The BRICS Summit 2024 is taking place amid the ongoing global unrest, including the Russia-Ukraine war and the Middle East crisis. All eyes will be on PM Modi and other world leaders at the summit which provides an important platform for leaders to discuss key global issues.
