A 19-year-old youth was arrested on charges of molesting five children. The arrested is A M Sajith, hailing from Kunnatheri near Thaikkattukara. He had sexually abused eight children in his neighbourhood for the last three months.
Sub-inspector Anup C Nair said that, in his confession statement, Sajith had mentioned about eight children who had been victimised by him, but only five of them consented to it. Sajith used to torture children at one of the vacant houses in the locality, the police sources said.
The police said two days ago one of the boys objected to his deeds and the enraged molester beat him up. The boy narrated the incident to his parents. A case was registered on the complaint of the boy’s parents, the police said.
An offence was registered against him under IPC 377 (‘unnatural offence’). He would be presented before the court. Sajith is a tile worker.
