New Delhi: Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugade has given a strong indication that he is preparing to contest a second-round presidential ballot.
In last week's elections, Mugabe and his ZANU-PF party lost control of parliament for the first time in last 28 years.
On Thursday, the opposition - Movement for Democratic Change had claimed victory and declared that Morgan Shangurai will be the new president.
Mugabe and his party will decide their plan of action in a meeting later on Friday.
With both ruling and oppositon parties failing to get more than 50 per cent of the seats, it is highly likely that a run-off between President Mugabe and his rival Morgan Shangurai will take place.
So far the results have not been announced officially, which has lead to accusations of alleged foul play.
