South African skipper Temba Bavuma was dismissed for a duck off Australia pacer Mitchell Starc’s first over of the semifinal in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in Eden Gardens on Thursday.

Bavuma was caught behind by Josh Ingles off Starc’s delivery after facing just four deliveries and without getting off the mark.

The Protea captain’s failure in the final-four encounter adds to an underwhelming performance throughout the ICC showpiece, where the opener could not get past the 50-run mark even once.
