The iconic Mick Jagger, founder and frontman of The Rolling Stones, recently visited the vibrant city of Kolkata during the festive season. Immersing himself in the Diwali and Kali Puja celebrations, the Rock legend explored the city’s dazzling streets and embraced the festive fervour. Known for his love of cricket, Jagger attended the England vs Pakistan match at Eden Gardens on the eve of Kali Puja. Additionally, he was spotted alongside Indian singing legend Usha Uthup.
Taking to Instagram, Mick Jagger shared a series of candid snaps capturing his experience in Kolkata. “Happy Diwali and Kali Pujo,” he wrote along with the pictures. The photographs captured Mick Jagger exploring Kolkata. In the snapshots, the Rock icon sported a patterned shirt, trousers, and a cap. Fans were thrilled to witness Jagger’s engagement with the local celebrations, with one admirer expressing, “Omg, I am from Kolkata, and Mick Jagger knows about Kali Pujo… Incredible.”

Later, Mick Jagger also met renowned vocalist Usha Uthup. The singing legends together performed a line from The Rolling Stones’ iconic hit Satisfaction.

Speaking to The Telegraph about her meeting with the Rock legend, Usha Uthup said, “I was so excited to meet the legendary Mick Jagger. Snehasish Da (Snehasish Ganguly) was kind enough to arrange my visit to Eden Gardens on the day of the match. We know each other, but I was really looking forward to interacting with him. A lovely gentleman, he apologised for being late to the match, as soon as he walked in. We immediately struck a chord and it was lovely chatting with him.”
In addition, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) informed The Times Of India that during his visit to Eden Gardens on November 11, Mick Jagger occupied the corporate box, where he was treated to a specially curated Bengali meal.
Mick Jagger, accompanied by his girlfriend Melanie and youngest son Deveraux, also made a stop at Trincas, a heritage restaurant on Park Street, Kolkata, on Monday.
