From technology and food to music and movies, the craze for Korea in the rest of the world seems very obvious. With platforms like YouTube, Netflix, and other OTT platforms, Korean dramas and culture are gaining popularity and receiving increasing attention. Keeping up the craze for K-movies in India, another movie named Badland Hunters has been released on the OTT platform Netflix. Badland Hunters are the feature directorial debut of martial arts choreographer Heo Myeong-haeng. It was co-written by DP creator Kim Bo-tong and Kwak Jae-min and produced under the banners Big Punch Pictures, Climax Studio and Lotte Entertainment, this Korean drama was released on January 26, 2024.
Starring Ma Dong Seok, Don Lee, Lee Hee-jun, Roh Jeong-eui, An Ji-hye, and Lee Jun-young in lead roles, the film is a sequel to the highly acclaimed film Concrete Utopia, released in 2023. This action thriller takes place in the city of Seoul after a deadly earthquake turns into a lawless badland.

Nearly three years later, the movie showed how survivors lived in a small tent without fresh drinking water, near a massive crocodile’s prowl, and bearing some rogue gangs who harassed the villagers. Nam San and his younger helping hand, Ji-wan, used to hunt deadly creatures to feed the remaining survivalists in the apocalyptic wasteland of Seoul. Later, the movie delves into the dark mind of a mad doctor who captures a teenager for his dangerous mission, followed by rescuers Nam-san and Ji-wan, who risk their lives to rescue the abducted teen.
Undoubtedly, the tale of survival and humanity is filled with adrenaline-inducing action sequences that will keep you on the tip of your toes the entire time you watch the movie.
Meanwhile, the lead actor Ma Dong-seok is quite popular at delivering outstanding action scenes. His notable work includes Train to Busan (2016), The Outlaws (2017), The Roundup: No Way Out (2023) and other films. His upcoming movie include The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil which is an English remake of a Korean Film.
