Moon Ga-young, known for her role in True Beauty, is in the final stages of negotiations to star alongside Lee Jong-suk in the upcoming legal drama Seocho Dong. The announcement from JTBC Entertainment has generated considerable excitement among fans. A representative from her agency, Peak J Entertainment, confirmed that she is reviewing the offer and will provide an update soon. If she accepts, Moon Ga-young will portray the character Kang Hee-ji, while Lee Jong-suk is expected to play An Ju Hyeong. The series, directed by Park Seung Woo, will delve into the lives of lawyers at a prestigious law firm and is highly anticipated due to the director’s previous successes with projects like Adamas and Kairos .
A source close to the production said, “Moon Ga-young will be starring in the new drama Seocho-dong. She will be playing the character of Kang Hee-ji.” On the other hand, Moon Ga-young’s agency responded, “We are positively reviewing it.”
In Seocho Dong, Moon Ga-young portrays Kang Hee-ji, a second-year lawyer at Jo Hwa Law Firm, who is driven by the belief that making a difference in even one person’s life can transform their entire world. In contrast, Lee Jong-suk plays Ahn Joo-hyung, a charming and highly qualified lawyer with nine years of experience, known for his honesty. The drama will explore their professional journeys, focusing on how they collaborate and the positive impact they have on the lives of their clients.
Lee Jong-suk’s involvement was confirmed in September and an insider speaking with Newsen said, “Lee Jong-suk has received an offer to appear in the new drama Seocho-dong and is currently reviewing it.”
Seocho Dong, featuring Moon Ga-young and Lee Jong-suk is scheduled to begin filming at the end of this year and the makers plan to release the show in 2025. Interestingly, the K-drama will reunite actor Lee Jong-suk and director Park Seung Woo after eight years. The two previously worked on the popular drama W, released in 2016.
Meanwhile, Moon Ga-young will also star in Black Salt Dragon, where she will share the screen with Choi Hyun-wook.
