TXT Member Yeonjun Donates Over Rs 30 Lakh To Support Firefighters: Report
South Korean boyband TXT member Yeonjun donated 50 million KRW to support the medical and nursing expenses of firefighters.

Yeonjun, a member of the popular South Korean boyband Tomorrow X Together, better known as TXT, has won the hearts of fans all over again. This time not for a new musical rendition but for a noble cause. The 24-year-old made a generous contribution of 50 million KRW (approximately Rs 30 lakh) to support firefighters in his country. His donation would cater to the nursing and medical expenses of the firefighters and enable the smooth operation of their trauma treatment scheme— the Firefighter Trauma 119 Program.

On May 2, the Hallym Burn Foundation revealed that Yeonjun had granted a hefty sum of money to the organisation, as reported by Koreaboo. The institution offers “physical, emotional, and social support to burn survivors and their communities.” The Firefighter Trauma 119 Program, developed and executed by the Hallym Burn Foundation commenced last year. Psychiatry professor Lee Byung-chul also assisted in the Program creation which aims to alleviate firefighters’ trauma, induced by their profession. The specialised mental health recovery support project will also cover additional medical costs of firefighters.

Hallym Burn Foundation’s CEO Heo Jun lauded Yeonjun’s contribution in a statement. “We are grateful for the meaningful help that helped firefighters feel emotionally stable. We will do our best to ensure a healthy life for firefighters,” he said, as quoted by Kpopping.

This is not the first time that a TXT member made the headlines for their charity work. Earlier, Beomgyu, another singer from the group, donated 30 million KRW (approximately Rs 22,000) to the Community Chest Of Korea organisation, reports Soompi.

In a statement released by the non-profit firm, the authorities claimed that the money would be utilised to help children and adolescents on the path of mental health recovery from strained familial and peer relationships. Beomgyu revealed that he made an altruistic contribution in the hope that these youngsters get all the support for a new lease of life, promoting their healthy growth, claims Soompi.

Meanwhile, all the TXT members — Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Choi Soo-bin, Huening Kai, and Taehyun are geared up to kickstart their world tour titled ACT: PROMISE on May 3 in Seoul which will conclude in the city on May 5.
