1. Munnar
With its cool climate and tea-estates, the hills of Munnar will give you respite from the Holi madness as the festival isn't very popular in South India. MTC and TNSTC Kanchipuram division buses operate from Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Thiruttani etc. There are other deluxe and air conditioned deluxe buses to Mahabalipuram from various parts of the city.

Also known as Pondy, this little beach village has crystal clear blue sea and French cafes that makes it a must visit destination if you want to spend some time with your loved one. Pondicherry Road Transport Corporation runs buses within the city. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation operates buses from Chennai to Pondicherry.
