Mahashivratri falling on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun is an auspicious coincidence as it aligns with Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga.

This year, the sacred festival of Mahashivratri will be observed on March 8. It holds special significance as several rare coincidences are converging on this auspicious day. As per Dr Mrityunjay Tiwari, the Head of the Astrology Department at Shri Kallaji Vedic University, after 300 years, a unique combination of Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Shiva Yoga will occur on Mahashivratri. Additionally, there will be the occurrence of the Shukra Pradosh fast, which holds significance in bringing success in various aspects of life such as career, business and overall prosperity.

As per astrologer Dr Tiwari, on March 8, Mahashivratri will witness a rare conjunction after 300 years, featuring Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, known for granting desires and Shiva Yoga, ideal for meditation and mantra recitation. Shiva Yoga will persist throughout the day, from sunrise until 12:46 AM, while Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will occur from 06:38 AM to 10:41 AM on the morning of Mahashivratri.

According to the Vedic calendar, Mahashivratri falling on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun is an exceptionally auspicious coincidence as it aligns with Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. On this day, there will be a remarkable combination of Shiva Yoga and Shravan Nakshatra, alongside Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, ideal for worshipping Shiva. The Mahashivratri fast will conclude on 9th March in Siddhi Yoga. With Mahashivratri occurring amidst these propitious alignments, devotees of Shiva worship are poised to receive double the blessings.

In Shiva Yoga, worshipping Lord Shiva during an auspicious time invites his blessings and there’s a likelihood of favourable events occurring at home. Siddha Yoga, on the other hand, is associated with Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Worship during this yoga ensures success in all endeavours and tasks undertaken during this auspicious time bring prosperity to the household.

Shani Dev presides over the Shravan Nakshatra, ensuring auspicious outcomes for any works undertaken during this time. As Shiva’s beloved month, Saavan, commences from the full moon day of Shravan Nakshatra, apart from worship, initiating shopping and new ventures on this day is also propitious.

Astrologer Dr Tiwari highlights the unique alignment of Mahashivratri and Shukra Pradosh fast occurring simultaneously this time. Mahashivratri coinciding with Shukra Pradosh is particularly auspicious and fasting and worshipping Shiva on this occasion can alleviate all troubles. Friday’s Pradosh fast fosters success in careers and businesses while worshipping Shiva-Parvati enhances familial prosperity and augments happiness in married life.
