On Saturday, the biggest names of Bollywood came together at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre to celebrate the newlywed couple Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare. This wedding reception was nothing short of a fashion gala and undoubtedly all the stars attending it most certainly put their best fashion foot forward making the internet go absolutely crazy over their looks. Two such looks that fashion critics and enthusiasts cannot get enough of yet were Manushi Chhillar’s and Mrunal Thakur’s from last night’s reception party.

Former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar opted for a scintillating black saree from the shelves of Talking Threads by Pearl Uppal. What truly is fascinating about her look is that she chose to take up a rather simple traditional saree and gave it a modern twist by pairing it with a corset featuring an embellished sweetheart neckline.
Manushi’s look was both subtle and striking at the same time- it does not have a lot going on but sort of left an undeniable mark on everyone because of how nuanced it was. Sheefa, who was behind conceptualizing this look, says, “I have always been a minimalist and I don’t generally think weddings need maximalist dressing. Less is more!”
She further added, “This year, for Manushi and I, is the year of elevating our style and this totally falls in our alleyway. I think when it comes to weddings we ultimately lay our hands on the traditional pieces, however, we decided to switch it up. A modern sari with some modern jewellery.”

Manushi’s look was accessorised with a pair of diamond threader earrings and a statement sleek diamond bracelet. In terms of makeup, the actress chose to keep it rather low-key but the nude lip shade sure does deserve a special mention of its own. She went ahead with keeping her tresses open for the evening with a side parting.
On the other Mrunal Thakur shimmered her way through the carpet and was all smiles as she posed for the paparazzi. Mrunal whose sartorial choices are always an extension of her fun yet poised personality was seen draped in a beautiful black Chantilly lace saree designed by Jade by Monica and Karishma. She paired the saree with a full-length matching lace blouse. This time around too like every other time, the actress made sure give onlookers a jaw-drop worthy moment with her phenomenal sartorial choice.
Wearing lace to a wedding has been done very few times before but while decoding Mrunal’s look, Sheefa shared, “Lace is one of the strongest trends of the season and we worked our way through it in a saree. I have been obsessed with lace this year, Mrunal is a Stylist’s dream. She understands the vision and she nails it!”

Over the years, it has been noted that while Mrunal loves to follow trends but she also believes in giving her very own twist to it. For this particular look, she decided to follow her heart and go ahead with a hairstyle that she has not been seen sporting a lot of times before. “She said big hair – I gave her a vision board with big hair,” says Sheefa.
The prolific stylist, went onto add, “Honestly this look was so last minute. But I was only aiming for – chic Indian sexy.” The ‘Hi Nanna’ actress went for a heavy makeup base with structured eyebrows and a nude lip shade. Her eyeliner game was absolutely on point and definitely went well with the look she was aiming for. She did not accessorise the look much which was a rather well thought of decision but kept it simple with a pair of earrings and statement finger-ring.
