Akshay Kumar’s Eid release Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Tiger Shroff is currently running in theaters, and the superstar is now gearing up for his Telugu debut. He will star in the film Kannappa alongside Prabhas and Mohanlal. In a video shared by Vishnu Manchu on X (formerly Twitter), Akshay can be seen being welcomed into a star hotel in Hyderabad and engaging in discussions about the film with Vishnu and Mohan Babu. Akshay can be seen dressed in a black shirt and trousers, paired with a sporty cap.

Confirming the debut, Vishnu Manchu wrote, “The Kanappa journey just got more thrilling as we welcome the Superstar Mr. Akshay Kumar to the Telugu Film Industry. Thrilled to announce his debut in Telugu cinema with Kannappa. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! ❤️

Earlier, Trade Analyst Ramesh Bala had confirmed the news on X and written, “Bollywood Superstar @akshaykumar joins the cast of Prestigious Pan-India Biggie – Actor @iVishnuManchu’s Big Budget movie #Kannappa. After #Prabhas, @Mohanlal, @PDdancing and @realsarathkumar – @akshaykumar is one more grand addition to the movie’s cast…Stay tuned for more exciting updates..(sic)”. In March, the makers dropped the first look on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, which has sent the fandom into a frenzy.

The film will also feature Prabhas, Mohanlal and Nayanthara, among others. This film marks Akshay’s debut in Telugu cinema, although he had a role in the bilingual film ‘Ashaant’ (1993), released in Kannada as ‘Vishnu Vijaya.’ He also entered Tamil cinema with Shankar’s 2018 blockbuster ‘2.0’. ‘Kannappa’ will be his third venture in South Indian cinema. Produced by 24 Frames Factory and Ava Entertainment, the film will feature music by Stephen Devassy and Manisharma, and is set to release in major Indian languages and English.
