Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is trending all over social media. The actress is seen in a never-seen-before avatar in its teaser and the fans are mind-blown. Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film’s teaser comes after 3 years of his previous release, ‘Padmaavat.’ Amid the supporters were Ranbir Kapoor’s mother Neetu Kapoor and sister Riddhima Kapoor, who were all praises for the Bollywood diva’s presence in it.
As soon as the teaser dropped, it took the internet by storm. Many celebrities shared the teaser on Instagram including Priyanka Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and more, appreciating Alia’s performance. Her boyfriend Ranbir’s family members also seemed super impressed with the same!
Neetu too shared the story on Instagram calling it ‘outstanding’ and ‘absolutely brilliant.’ On the other hand, Riddhima shared it with fire emojis and exclaiming, ‘can’t wait!’. Well, the fans have once more seen the growing bond between Alia and Kapoors!
Speaking of the film teaser, the biographical crime flick is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai.’ It revolves around Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura, the role that Alia essays. The poster of the film had also created similar noise on social media due to Alia’s look in it. With her powerful appearance in SLB’s Gangubai Kathiawadi’s teaser, the trailer is now much awaited. The movie also marks Bhansali’s return after a long period, especially after the controversial and blockbuster Deepika Padukone starrer period drama.
On personal front, Alia has been very close with Ranbir’s family. In a recent media chat, RK even confirmed that they would have gotten married if there was no pandemic. With this piece of information, the fans are only expecting the two to get hitched in 2021. The couple will also be seen together as the lead in Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy film ‘Brahmastra’.
