Andhra And Telangana Floods: Actor Venky Atluri To Contribute Rs 10 Lakh To Relief Fund

For the past three to four days, heavy rainfall has impacted several states in India, leading to widespread flooding in numerous regions. States such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been particularly affected, descending into chaos. The districts of Khammam and Vijayawada in the Telugu states have been severely inundated, with floodwaters causing extensive damage. Drinking water is scarce, as the area is drowned with floodwater.

Many people have been left homeless, with every house submerged, and they are facing various challenges. However, support organisations are providing food and water to those stranded. Despite the rain stopping, the floodwaters have not receded. Relief workers in some areas are using helicopters to deliver food, while drones are being employed to distribute essentials such as milk, water, bread, and biscuits. The flood situation in both states has shocked many, including celebrities. In response to the devastating floods caused by the relentless rains, several Tollywood stars have stepped forward to offer significant financial aid.

Venky Atluri, the well-known Tollywood actor and writer, recently announced a Rs 10 lakh relief fund, contributing Rs 5 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In his post, he expressed his heartbreak over the catastrophic damage and urged others to support the affected communities, saying, “It is heartbreaking to see the recent catastrophic visuals and devastation caused by the relentless rains and resulting floods. In these challenging times, we must stand united and support one another. I urge everyone to find ways to help those affected. From my side, I am contributing a sum of Rs. 5 lakhs each to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states’ respective CM Relief Funds. I encourage you to contribute in any way you can. Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna also announced a significant donation of over Rs 1 crore, with Rs 50 lakh each allocated for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Tollywood actor Jr NTR contributed Rs 50 lakh to both states as well. Other notable contributions include Rs 30 lakh from Siddu Jonnalagadda and Vyjayanthi Movies and Rs 10 lakh from the young hero Vishwak.
