It’s been 15 years since Ankita Lokhande marked her acting debut with Pavitra Rishta. On Saturday, the actress took to her Instagram handle to pen down a heartwarming note as she thanked everyone for the love she has received in these 15 years. While Ankita used to play the role of Archana in Pavitra Rishta, the show also starred Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead.
Ankita Lokhande dropped a video which featured several of her glimpses from Pavitra Rishta. It also shared glimpses of Ankita’s performance in her other projects including the 2019 film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The video also included Ankita’s clip Bigg Boss 17 in which she was seen talking about ‘Pavitra Rishta’.
In the caption of her video, Ankita penned down a long note as she also remembered Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress recalled how SSR used to help her on sets and added that she will always be thankful to him. Ankita and Sushant worked together in Pavitra Rishta. In the show, their chemistry as Archana and Manav respectively was widely loved by all. The two also dated for some time but later parted ways. Sushant was then found dead in his Mumbai apartment in June 2020.
“15 years ago, I started my journey as Archana in Pavitra Rishta. Little did I know that even after years, I will continue to get so much love for my role, which has even become my identity. I sometimes feel I was destined to be Archana. I had her in me, and I continue to have her in me. She has taught me a lot about life,” Ankita wrote.
“I am forever indebted to @ektarkapoor @ek_ek_ekoo ma’am and @balajitelefilmslimited for giving me a role of a lifetime right in the beginning of my career. Main rahoon ya na rahoon, the love I have received, Archana and Pavitra Rishta has received from each one of you will keep me alive forever in your hearts, and I don’t think there’s anything more precious than that. But my journey wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t have Sushant’s support. I didn’t even know how to act when I started Pavitra Rishta. He taught me, and I will always be thankful for him. The show started a new kind of storytelling. Hindi television par Marathi culture ko dikhaya. Isse pehle kabhi koi aisa show aaya nahi tha. People could resonate with the show because of the innocence the show and the people involved in it had,” the actress continued.
Ankita concluded by saying that she is grateful to the television industry for making her what she is today. “My first brush with fandom and stardom happened because of a television show, and I am always going to be thankful for that❤️,” she said.
