Born on June 22, 1986, in Ballahalli, Mysore, Karnataka, he has always had a passion for the arts. Coming from a middle-class background, he worked diligently to achieve his current success. Chikkanna began his career as a comedy actor, but his impressive acting skills soon saw him transition to lead roles in various films. Additionally, he is an amateur background singer and lyricist.

Chikkanna started his career as a comedian in Comedy Kiladigalu which aired on Zee Kannada. He was also part of a prank show aired on Udaya TV. In his initial days in the industry, he also performed in various state festivals and Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. It is said the popular actor Yash spotted his talent and offered him a role in a film. Chikkanna made his acting debut with the film Kirataka in 2011. He caught everyone’s attention with his flawless acting in his first film.
