Amid Ben Affleck and Jenifer Lopez’s divorce rumours, it has now been reported that the Gone Girl star recently skipped JLo’s birthday bash. As reported by People, Ben was not present at Lopez’s Bridgerton-themed birthday party, which took place in the Hamptons on Saturday.
The Atlas actress, who turned 55, continued her birthday celebrations on Sunday too when she hosted a lunch for her family. However, Ben was absent from that too. Another source quoted by Page Six also claimed that even the actress got emotional during her birthday bash while telling stories about her past.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s divorce rumours first made headlines in May this year after a report by In Touch Weekly claimed that the couple parted ways because “she can’t control him, and he can’t change her”. Later, another report by Us Weekly claimed that the tension between the Hollywood duo started a few months back when they started to argue over “finances”. Reportedly, JLo was very much focused on her work, which left Ben a little disappointed. The two Hollywood stars are living separately now.
Last week, a reported by Ok Magazine claimed that Ben Affleck is ‘upset and depressed’ amid his alleged ongoing divorce with Jennifer. The portal claimed that the Gone Girl star used to consider JLo as his “dream woman” and is disheartened due to their separation.
“Jennifer was Ben’s dream woman. It was a drama all the time. He’s feeling down about it and is upset and depressed that it didn’t work out, even though he knows ending it is the right thing to do,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
“They have gone through phases where things haven’t been as great between them due to their different personalities and not getting enough time together. They’re not always on the same page. They both have so much going on between taking care of their families and their work commitments and it can be a lot for them,” the insider added.
However, it should also be noted that neither Ben nor Jennifer have issued any statement as of now regarding their alleged divorce. Instead, Jennifer paid special tribute to Ben on Father’s Day. She took to her Instagram story to share a throwback black and white photo of Ben in a leather jacket and called him “our hero”. She also used a white heart emoji with her caption.
