Bigg Boss 18's Shehzada Dhami Says He Was 'Publicly Humiliated' By Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Makers On Set

Popular television actor Shehzada Dhami is one of the participants on Bigg Boss 18. The actor made headlines when he was ousted from Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. In the first episode of the Salman Khan hosted reality television show, the actor opened up and shared his side of the story. He accused the makers of the serial being unprofessional on the set.

During the premiere episode of Bigg Boss 18, Shehzada Dhami talked about his time on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The actor recalled being yelled at on the sets. He mentioned how he had to work nonstop for six months without taking breaks. He said, “I was the lead actor, portraying the role of an advocate, in a TV show that required me to work 15-hour shifts for six months without taking breaks for food or vacations. Like any dedicated actor, I poured my heart and soul into the project, working tirelessly to bring the show to success. To my surprise, I was suddenly given leave without notice. On my off day, I was called for an urgent meeting called by the producer. When I arrived, he (the producer) publicly humiliated and berated me in front of the entire cast and crew of around 150 people.”

The actor recounted how the director and the creative head had given him different directions for his character. He continued, “On my first day of shooting as a lawyer, the director requested that I wear bracelets up to my wrist. However, the creative head approached me and questioned the choice of bracelets, insisting that they were inconsistent with the character and that lawyers typically do not wear them. Before shooting the next scene, I remembered to remove the bracelets and gave them to the wardrobe team. When the director noticed that I was no longer wearing them, he became furious, berating me for removing them.”

In the same conversation, he also mentioned how the show’s director had tried to intimidate him. He added, “He said, ‘Meri baat ek baar me sun na. Dusri baar mein main uda deti hoon, samjha. Agli baar yeh hona nahi chahiye.’”

Apart from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the actor has also been a part of hit television serials such as Shubh Shagun, and Yeh Jadu Hai Jin La among others.
