Case Filed Against Tamil Actor Yugi Sethu For Not Repaying Rs 50 Lakh Loan
According to reports, Yugi Sethu took a loan of Rs 50 lakh in 2017 from R Suresh Kumar, the owner of a private company in Teynampet, Chennai.

Actor, filmmaker, writer, entrepreneur and television presenter Yugi Sethu is a popular name in the Tamil film industry. He is currently in the limelight for a harassment case against him.

According to reports, Yugi Sethu took a loan of Rs 50 lakh in 2017 from R Suresh Kumar, the owner of a private company in Teynampet, Chennai. The actor assured Kumar that he would repay the loan amount within six months. But Yugi Sethu did not repay the loan amount. So, Kumar’s son-in-law, Ashwani Kumar Dalal filed a case against Sethu in the 19th Additional City Civil Court, Chennai, on behalf of Suresh Kumar. As a result, Yugi Sethu has been ordered to pay around Rs 64 lakh with 7 per cent interest.

When the petitioner judge, B Suresh Kumar, appeared before the hearing, he was told that the documents were forged to file the case and that the entire financial transaction with the petitioner was suspicious. Yugi Sethu responded that the signatures on the documents were not his, and the case filed belatedly should be dismissed with a penalty.

After this, it was declared that the signature in the documents submitted by the petitioner is the signature of the borrower, Yugi Sethu, so he has been ordered to repay the loan.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Yugi Sethu is a versatile personality. He was conferred a doctorate (PhD) in cinema by Madras University in July 2015 for his thesis entitled ‘Development of a New Box Office Predictability Model’. He has appeared in a few films in main and supporting roles and has contributed to films as a screenwriter. He has also hosted close to 1,000 TV talk shows, including Nayyandi Darbar, Sethuvudan Darbar, and Yugiyudan Yugiyungal, to name a few.

He directed two films, Kavithai Paada Neramillai and Maadhangal Ezhu. He also wrote the story for the Tamil box office hit KS Ravikumar’s Villain, starring Ajith Kumar as the main lead. He has also acted as the lead in an Italian-English telefilm, “Pidgin” (1995), which won an award at Nanni Moretti’s Sacher Film Festival in Rome.
