Deepika Padukone is all set to welcome her first child this September with her husband, Ranveer Singh. The Piku actress has been facing immense scrutiny on social media ever since she stepped out to cast her vote with her baby bump, with a section of netizens calling her bump ‘fake’. However, unfazed by the negativity, Deepika Padukone stunned fans on Friday, after she stepped out donning the colour yellow.
Deepika Padukone posted a short video in which she stood behind a store counter promoting her skincare brand, 82°E. In a humourous manner, Deepika quipped, “I should be a salesperson.” She even playfully interacted with a POS machine, pretending to be part of the store’s staff. The clip soon went viral all over social media.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the actress took to her Instagram story to share a series of photos in a bright yellow maxi dress, flaunting her baby bump. Radiating her pregnancy glow, the actress also made a strong case for maternity fashion. Her million-dollar smile complemented her, making her look effortlessly glam and elegant. She was a complete vision to behold and looked breathtaking from every angle.
On Wednesday, actor Alia Bhatt reacted in support of mom-to-be Deepika as she faced trolling over her baby bump after her recent appearance. On May 20, Deepika stepped out to cast her vote in the fifth phase of the Mumbai Lok Sabha Election 2024. However, she was trolled by a section of netizens who made some nasty comments about her baby bump. Amid the ongoing trolling of the actress on social media, a senior journalist, Faye D’Souza, penned a strongly-worded post on her official Instagram account and showed her solidarity with Deepika.
In her post, Faye wrote, “Dear social media, Deepika Padukone stepped out to do her democratic duty and vote. She did not ask for your feedback on her body or her pregnancy. You have no right to comment on any aspect of her life. Stop it. Behave.” Alia was quick to like the post. In fact, Alia’s sisters, Pooja Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt, and her mother, Soni Razdan, liked the post too.
Reacting to the post, actress Shruti Seth wrote, “Luckily @deepikapadukone is too busy taking over the world to give a damn! She’s walking all over their damn opinions.” Actress Aahana Kumra commented, “Good on you Faye.” TV star Tina Datta said, “Exactly! People have lost it.”
Deepika Padukone announced her pregnancy earlier this year with a heartfelt Instagram post. On February 29, the actress along with Ranveer Singh shared the post that read, September 2024.
