Diljit Dosanjh Says His Success Was Not Instant, It Took 22 Years: 'I Couldn’t Give My Family Time'
Diljit Dosanjh, in an interview today, clarified that his success was not instant; it took 22 years of hard work to get where he is today.

Diljit Dosanjh paid a visit to Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi on Sunday, June 23. The Punjabi singer kickstarted his North America-based concert, the Dil-Luminati Tour on April 27 in Vancouver, Canada. The opening show created “history” as the largest Punjabi concert held outside India. Presently, Dijit Dosanjh is looking forward to taking the crowd into a frenzy again during his next stop in Dallas, Texas, scheduled today, June 24. Before jetting off to the destination, the pop icon sought blessings at the Gurdwara.

While promoting his film in Chandigarh, Diljit talked about his deep connection to Punjab. He mentioned how he always returns to his home state to recharge himself. “I have promised to do one Punjabi film and an album each year. Baaki sab bachon, Punjab pehlan e (Everything comes after Punjab).”

Diljit clarified that his success was not instant; it took 22 years of hard work to get where he is today. He said, “It’s not overnight fame. You can never make it happen in one day. I have been in the industry for almost 22 years and have worked day and night to stand where I am today. This cost me a lot of things, I couldn’t give my family much time. All those years of hard work have now paid rich dividends, but I have more things planned. Just wait and watch,” he said.

On April 28, Diljit Dosanjh shared photos and videos on Instagram from his Vancouver concert. He captioned it, “History has been written. BC Place Stadium. Sold Out. Dil-Illuminati Tour”. One photo showed Diljit in all-black, commanding the stage with a victory pose. Another video captured the stadium’s general manager presenting Diljit with a framed memento. Other clicks highlighted special moments from Diljit’s performance.

After the May 24 concert, Diljit Dosanjh will be entertaining the crowd in Washington, DC on May 28, followed by Newark, New Jersey on May 30, and Los Angeles, California on July 10. He will wrap up his Dil-Luminati Tour on July 13 in Toronto, Ontario at the Rogers Centre.
