Ekta Kapoor's Hindi Serial Chandrakanta To Premiere In Tamil On This Date
Chandrakanta was directed by Ranjan Kumar Singh and was jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telefilms.

The popular supernatural fantasy Hindi television series Chandrakanta- Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha, created by Ekta Kapoor, is all set to be broadcast in the Tamil version on Colors Tamil on February 5.

Meanwhile, the makers recently dropped a promo video for the upcoming show on their official Instagram handle, Colors TV Tamil. “Who is the most powerful witch in the world? Chandrakanta. From February 5th, 7 p.m.” Take a look at the video:

Chandrakanta- Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha premiered on Colors TV on June 24, 2017 and ended on June 16, 2018. The series was based on the 1888 novel of the same name by Devaki Nandan Khatri and it tells the story of Princess Chandrakanta.

The show was produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Ranjan Kumar Singh under the banner of Balaji Telefilms. The series starred Madhurima Tuli, Urvashi Dholakia and Vishal Aditya Singh in the lead roles.

Madhurima Tuli played the role of Rajkumari Chandrakanta Pratap Singh, Princess of Sooryagarh and later Queen of Vijaygarh, Veer’s wife. Vishal Aditya Singh was seen in the role of Veerendra “Veer” Pratap Singh, King of Vijaygarh, Chandrakanta’s husband, and Champa’s ex-lover. While Urvashi Dholakia played the character of Iravati Singh, Senior Queen of Vijaygarh, Veer’s stepmother and Swayam’s mother, a greedy, evil woman to find a dagger. Apart from them, the show also featured Nikhil Arya, Shaad Randhawa, Pooja Banerjee, Punit Talreja, Surjit Saha, Maleeka Ghai, Shilpa Saklani, Sandeep Rajora, and Prerna Wanvari play other important roles.

The series revolved around Princess Chandrakanta Jai Singh, who was born to Ratnaprabha, a great magician who has the most powerful dagger of Lord Vishnu. Iravati Singh, an evil queen, wants the dagger to rule the world and conquer Vijaygarh. Ratnaprabha stores the dagger at a temple to protect it and passes it to Chandrakanta after 21 years.

This show had only one season with a total of 94 episodes. The series was jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telefilms.
