The veteran actor tied the knot with Maheswari Sathyaraj, niece of the well-known producer Madampatti Sivakumar in the year 1979. The couple is the parents of two children Sibi Sathyaraj and Divya Sathyaraj. Sibi Sathyaraj is an actor and mainly works in the Telugu film industry while Divya is a nutritionist. Divya is also a goodwill ambassador of The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF), an NGO responsible for implementing the Government’s Midday Meal Scheme for school children.
Adding to it, Sathyaraj’s wife Maheswari Sathyaraj is a film producer. Earlier she was a homemaker, but after her children grew up she decided to pursue her career as a film producer. According to a report by the Times of India, the name of the film production house is Nadhambal Film Factory. Some of the popular films produced by Maheswari Sathyaraj are Naaigal Jaakirathai and Sathya. Naaigal Jaakirathai was released in 2014 while Sathya was released in 2017.
Sathyaraj started his acting career with many minor roles. In 1978, he played a major role in the film Sattam En Kaiyil. He was featured in the film alongside actors like Kamal Haasan and S.A. Ashokan. He gained fame with his roles in films like Vedham Pudhithu, Nadigan, Amaidhi Padai. He portrayed the crucial role of Kattappa in Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
