Ashwita R Hedge is a well-known face in the Kannada film industry. She is known among theatre lovers as she has been a theatre artist since childhood. In an interview, she revealed that she has been acting since the age of seven which gave her the confidence to pursue acting after finishing her studies. She pursued her education in engineering but later decided to follow her passion. The Kannada actress won her first National Award as a theatre artist for the role of Shaari in the play Naayi Kathe, written by Chandrashekar Kambar.
The young Kannada actress earned massive fame for acting in Kambli Hula under the direction of Navan Sreenivas. She portrayed the role of Swathi. Ashwita acted in the film alongside Rohith Kumar, Kinna and Anjan Nagendra. Talking about taking up the role, she mentioned that she doubted whether to take up such a challenging role but eventually, she agreed. Ashwita further stated that soon after the filming of the movie started the world was hit by Covid 19 and the shooting was halted.
She said that though the film went through various challenges during the filming, it was released in the theatres gaining huge attraction from the audience. Several offers poured in for her after the release of KambliHula. The lead actress of KambliHula shared her experience after the film was released. She said “It was my debut film and I never had much experience. Despite that, I was highly praised for the portrayal of the Kannadiga girl. As this film received massive success new offers started coming in.”
While talking about her present commitments she stated that she wishes to continue acting in theatres while working for various other films. Ashwita mentioned that she is currently working with a famous theatre group and would love to continue her performance in drama. She has also left her corporate job to continue her passion.
