A few days back, news broke out that actor-turned-politician Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg. This tragic development completely shook his fans, along with his near and dear ones. However, after three days of medical treatment at CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai, the 60-year-old actor was discharged from the hospital. His niece, actress Arti Singh, has now reacted to her “chichi mama” getting discharged today, October 4.
The Bigg Boss 13 star took to her Instagram Stories to repost a video that was circulating on the internet. In the clip, Govinda is seen sitting inside his car and waving at his fans. Arti shared it by writing, “Hero no 1, Forever.” In the following post, the actress reposted a video where a wheelchair-bound Govinda was seen greeting the press and his fans with folded hands. Sharing the clip, Arti wrote, “Acche logon ke sath duniya ki dua hoti hai (People’s prayers are always with good people).”
When Govinda was admitted to the hospital, his nephew Krushna Abhishek’s wife, Kashmera Shah, went to meet him. The comedian couldn’t visit his maternal uncle as he was out of the country in Australia. During an interview with Hindustan Times, he said, “He is fine now. Kashmera went to meet him. I am currently in Australia. He will be discharged in a few days.”
According to several media reports, Govinda licensed revolver misfired when he was keeping it in his almirah and accidentally dropped it. The incident took place in the wee hours of October 1. Following his surgery on Tuesday and ample care at the hospital, Govina was discharged from the hospital today. As media gathered at the hospital premises, the actor was seen sitting in a wheelchair with a big splint around his right leg.
Meanwhile, while speaking to Filmygyan, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was relieved with his discharge from the hospital, said, “Arrey sahab bach gaye, sabse badi khushi aur kya hai? Navratri ke beech mein ha rahe hai ghar, isse badi khushi aur kya milegi bataiye? Sabka aashirvaad hai, Mata Rani ka aashirvaad hai. Har jagah puja prathna chal raha tha. Sab ki duaon se sahab ekdum theek hai aur bohot jald kaam shuru kar denge (My husband is safe. What greater happiness can there be? He is coming home during Navratri; there’s no bigger joy than that. We have everyone’s blessings, including the blessings of Mata Rani. Everywhere, prayers were being offered. Thanks to everyone’s prayers, my husband is completely fine and will start working again very soon).”
In a related news, the Juhu Police questioned the actor and Shiv Sena leader over the shooting incident. While Govinda stated that the revolver was unlocked when he was cleaning it and it misfired, the police seem to have their own doubts. Reportedly, they might record his statement once again.
