Mumbai: As fans of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan Khan have expressed concern over the apparent lack of promotions of his upcoming film ‘Jazbaa’, director Sanjay Gupta has assured them that the team has a full-fledged campaign for the movie.
Aishwarya's comeback vehicle is slated to release on October 9 and so far the official trailer and two songs have been launched. The movie's stars have not been seen interacting much with the media barring the trailer launch event. Gupta said he does not believe in going to every market and mall to promote the movie and the audience is smart enough to judge a film by its trailer.
"Instead of blindly going to every city there is a very meticulous city tour plan in pace to create maximum impact of #JAZBAA. So chill. ‘We have a fantastic team at ZEE STUDIOS handling #JAZBAA marketing and promotions that I have full faith in. And they will do all it takes. The smartest ones are not marketing strategists. Its the audience that knows and smells a film just by its trailer. All else is a reminder," he tweeted.
"What is everyone's obsession with seeing stars in malls and markets in the name of promotions? Don't we see them enough on TV and the net?" he further wrote.
Four days ago, the director tried to pacify fans, asking them to relax. "Thank you for all your concerns with respect to #JAZBAA. We have worked very hard to make a good film and we will leave no stone unturned to promote it."
