Kabir Khan is gearing up for his upcoming sports-drama film Chandu Champion. The film features Kartik Aaryan in the lead role of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist athlete. Ahead of the film’s release, the makers have posted an engaging behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, offering a glimpse into the lively atmosphere on the set.
In the BTS clip, director Kabir Khan introduces a fitness challenge to his team. He tells everyone that after every take, they will do 25 pushups each. Leading by example, Kabir himself starts the challenge, and the entire crew can be seen following suit. The film’s lead actor Kartik Aaryan was also spotted performing the pushups. The caption of the post read, “Ever wondered what it’s like to be on a KK set? Find out more about Beyond The Frame soon. On the set of Chandu Champion in theatres June 14.”
Soon after the video was posted, social media users flooded the comments section with humorous comments. A user wrote, “Ninja technique to make people fit on the set,” while another commented, “I’m coming for the next push-up event.”
On May 24, the makers of the film released the first song Satyanaas. The music video shows Kartik and his gang grooving inside a moving train to a catchy tune. The actor can be seen explaining to friends from his regiment about his first love with a neighbour and how she fell in love with someone else. The whole team pulled off the dance moves while rejoicing over the weird ways of life. The video concludes with Kartik and his friends dancing on top of the moving train while it crosses a bridge. Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song features vocals by Arijit Singh, Dev Negi, and Nakash Aziz.
Apart from Kartik Aaryan, the film boasts a stellar cast including Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Naurang Yadav, Bhagyashree Patwardha, and more in significant roles. Chandu Champion tells the inspiring story of a man who overcame many challenges with an unbreakable spirit. His determination and perseverance earned India its first individual gold medal in the Olympics. The film is slated to release in theaters on June 14.
