Is Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongaavanam' remake of 'Sleepless Night'?

Hyderabad: In a development that bound to increase the curiosity surrounding Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongaavanam', it has been reported that the film might be the official remake of a popular French thriller titled 'Sleepless Night'. Directed by Frederick Jardin, the original revolved around a policeman's attempts to save his son's life and his own dignity.

'Thoongavanam' is being shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. The Telugu version is titled 'Cheekati Rajyam'. Directed by Rajesh Selva, it also features Prakash Raj, Madhu Shalini and Trisha Krishnan in important roles.
