Josh Brolin Confirms He Is Not A Part Of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool & Wolverine
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theatres on July 26 this year.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the most highly awaited MCU films this year. After being in development for quite some time now, the film is finally ready for release, with fans all excited and thrilled to witness the two antiheroes together on the big screen. While the film is expected to come with a lot of surprises including cameos from other MCU heroes, fans might miss a few ones including Josh Brolin’s Cable.

The Dune actor played the super soldier in the second installment of the MCU franchise, following his first comic appearance in New Mutants No. 87 in 1990. Brolin recently confirmed that he would not be a part of Deadpool & Wolverine while also expressing that he wanted to do it.

Josh Brolin ‘Wanted’ To Be A Part Of Deadpool 3

In an interview with The Playlist, Josh was asked about his name being included on the film’s IMDb page, to which he clarified that it was a mistake and he isn’t a part of the movie.

“Am I? Yeeeesssss! I so wanted to be in that movie,” Josh quipped, further submitting that he isn’t sure why he was excluded from the film.

He also explained that Marvel is a “complex” labyrinth compared to Outer Range, adding that playing Cable was a lot of fun. “I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun,” he said.

For the unversed, Josh Brolin appeared in Deadpool 2 as the time-travelling mutant who enters the present day on a mission to execute mutant Rusell Collins (played by Julian Dennison) before he grows up to kill his family. The film concluded with Cable and Wade Wilson aka Deadpool forming the X-force. While he had originally signed a contract for three more Deadpool films, Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019 changed the course of action for the franchise.

Josh Brolin Is A Big Hugh Jackman Fan

Meanwhile, though Brolin didn’t receive any calls from the makers of Deadpool 3 and Marvel Studios, he expressed excitement for Jackman’s long-awaited return to the superhero world.

Heaping praise on the lead actors, he added, “Hugh, I’m absolutely in love with. I know Ryan now, and I’ve met Hugh a couple of times, and I think when he did ‘Logan’—forget it! I mean, Scott Frank, who wrote it, is a good friend of mine and I just think them coming together is just fantastic. And Hugh, I don’t know how old he is now—is he 56, 57? I mean, seriously, the dude doesn’t age. So, yeah. I’m a big fan of his.”
