Days ahead of its theatrical release, Jr NTR’s Devara has reportedly received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. As reported by Bollywood Hungama, Koratala Siva’s directorial was given certification after four moderations.
“Sparking a tidal wave of excitement, man of masses NTR Jr’s Devara: Part 1 (Telugu) has been given the green light to cast off, securing a U/A certificate from the censor board,” a press release issued by the makers said.
Reportedly, three of the four modifications were related to violence. While one of the scenes showing a character kicking his wife in the stomach was asked to be modified, another similar scene of a character kicking his mother was also asked to be changed. A five-second shot of a character hanging through a sword was also removed. Besides this, the makers were also asked to add a disclaimer in a scene where Jr NTR was seen riding a shark.
With all these modifications, Devara’s runtime is around 2 hours and 58 minutes.
Devara is set against the coastal lands and is helmed by Koratala Siva. The film also marks Jr NTR’s 30th film. Reportedly, the actor will be portraying both, father and son on screen in this film. Devara also stars Janhvi Kapoor and marks her debut in South films. It is also her first-ever collaboration with Jr NTR. Saif Ali Khan will also play a key role in Devara. The film will also feature Ramya Krishna.
Just like RRR, this Telugu movie will reportedly have high-octane action sequences that are expected to blow away the minds of the audience. As per reports, Devara was made on a huge budget. The makers reportedly spent a whopping Rs 140 crore on its VFX.
At the recent trailer launch of the film, Jr NTR admitted being nervous about the film and said, “I am very nervous because this is my next film after RRR. RRR was with my co-actor Ram Charan but this is my solo release after six years so there is a lot of nervousness which is building but very happy to launch the trailer of Devara in the city of Mumbai.”
Devara will hit theatres on September 27, 2024.
