The film Kurangu Pedal produced by Sivakarthikeyan is all set to hit the silver screens on May 3. The film is set to star Kaali Venkat and Prasanna Balachander in key roles. The official announcement of the film’s official release was announced at a press conference at Chennai’s Saligramam.
At the event, the crew of the film was present including names like Kaali Venkat, Santhosh Velmurugan, VR Ragavan and music composer Ghibran. The producer of the film, Sivakarthikeyan addressed the media through video conference as he is currently busy with some other upcoming film.
Speaking at the press conference, actor Kaali Venkat thanked Sivakarthikeyan for giving him the chance, stating that the film is very important to him. Kaali further shared some past experiences of his life and mentioned that for his role in the film Kurangu Pedal, he received huge appreciation at the Goa Film Festival. He also spoke about the challenges the crew faced while shooting. He requested all his fans to watch Kurangu Pedal in the theatres and make it a big success.
While talking to the crowd present at the event, the music composer of the film Ghibran expressed his excitement for Kurangu Pedal. He thanked the producer for his support and for giving him the chance to compose music for this special film.
Answering questions about the lack of children’s stories in the film industry, writer Bramma G said, “Earlier I used to think that for a long time, we haven’t seen any good films for children in the Tamil Film industry. Films that are made for children only but this film now brings a lot of hope. According to me, there is no other film like this. It is a must-watch film for children.” He further mentioned that there are many such films in other languages and expressed his feelings about the need for such films in the Tamil industry.
Director Kamalakanann expressed his gratitude to the audience for such a huge response after the first-look poster of Kurangu Pedal was unveiled. He also mentioned the actors who worked with full dedication to make the film a huge success. When asked about the story, the author of the original story, C Azhagappan said in an interview, “This story is based on real-life incidents that happened with me and my father at the age of six.”
