Mumbai: On legendary composer R.D. Burman's 22nd death anniversary on Monday, melody queen Lata Mangeshkar paid tribute to him by saying that his "music will continue to spread magic".
Mangeshkar, who teamed up with Burman for songs like ‘Dilbar dil se pyare’, ‘Koi ladki koi ladka’, ‘Aaja piya tohe pyar doon’, ‘Mere naina sawan bhadon’ and ‘Tujhse naraz nahin zindagi’ among others, posted her message of tribute on Twitter.
She said the music and memories of Burman, who was lovingly nicknamed Pancham, are alive even today. Lata added that she's sure that his music will continue to spread magic in the coming hundred years too.
The 83-year-old singer also shared the link to the song ‘Tere liye palkon ki’ from the 1981 film ‘Harjaee’.
Burman was married to Mangeshkar's younger sister, singer Asha Bhonsle. Together, they had three children Varsha Bhosle, Hemant Bhosle and Anand Bhosle. Varsha and Hemant passed away in recent years.
