'Loved Action Sequences': Kannada Actress Girija Lokesh Heaps Praise On Darshan's Kaatera

Darshan Thoogudeepa, popularly called Darshan, has solidified his position as one of the leading actors in the Kannada film industry. His recent release, Kaatera, which hit screens on December 29, 2023, has garnered significant acclaim, emerging as a blockbuster action drama. Notably, Kaatera has etched its name in the annals of Kannada cinema history as one of the highest-grossing films of all time. As the movie gears up for its OTT release, veteran Kannada actress Girija Lokesh has showered praise on Darshan and the film.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Girija Lokesh expressed her admiration, stating, “First of all, my congratulations to the directors of the movie Kaatera. I recently watched the film and want to salute the producers for delivering such a commendable piece of work with an engaging storyline. It was akin to experiencing a captivating poetic narrative.” Girija further lauded the performances, particularly highlighting Shruti’s portrayal, saying, “Usually, people of my age don’t fancy action-packed sequences, but I thoroughly enjoyed every fight scene. Shruti’s performance was exceptional, especially the poignant moment where she nurtures the baby, which left me teary-eyed. She portrayed her role impeccably.”

She concluded with a commendation for the entire cast and crew, remarking, “Every individual involved has contributed significantly, delivering stellar performances. Meanwhile, following its stellar theatrical run, Kaatera is slated to premiere on the streaming platform Zee5 on February 9, 2024. The official announcement was made by the OTT platform on their verified account, stating, “Not a gun, not even a hundred cannons, can halt his stride. Get ready as ‘Kaatera’ arrives on February 9.” Directed by Tharun Sudhir, Kaatera marks his third directorial venture and his second collaboration with Darshan after 2021 hit Roberrt. The film also introduced Aradhana Ram as the female lead and featured acclaimed actors such as Jagapathi Babu, Kumar Govind, Vinod Kumar Alva and Srinivasa Murthy in pivotal roles.
