South star Mammootty has been making headlines for his upcoming film Yatra 2. His fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates about the project. Meanwhile, the actor has surprised the viewers and confirmed the trailer 2 release date of the much-anticipated film.

Mammootty has tweeted the official poster for Yatra 2 and confirmed that the trailer for the upcoming movie will be released on Saturday, February 3, at 11 a.m. “Join the movement; witness the rise of a people’s leader. The Yatra 2 trailer will be out on February 3rd at 11 a.m. Directed by Mahi Vraghav,” reads the caption. Take a look at the post:

Earlier last year, on October 9, Mammootty shared the first look of Yatra 2 on his official Twitter handle. He wrote, “Presenting the first look of Yatra 2,” in the caption. The poster had close-ups of Jiiva and Mammootty. Both are dressed in white. Mammotty is seen looking intently looking at Jiiva, while the latter looks away.

According to reports, Yatra 2 is a collaborative project of the V Celluloid and Three Autumn Leaves banners. The music for the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while Madhie is taking care of the cinematography of the film. This is a biographical drama of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The first part of Yatra was released in 2019. It was directed by Mahi V Raghav and was based on the padayatra of the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from May 2004 to June 2009, representing the Indian National Congress. The film is produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devi Reddy under 70mm Entertainments. The movie was also released in Malayalam and Tamil versions.

Mammootty was recently seen in the film Abraham Ozler. This psychological medical crime thriller film was co-produced and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and written by Dr Randheer Krishnan. The film stars Jayaram in the titular role, with Anaswara Rajan, Arjun Ashokan, Senthil Krishna, Arya Salim, Anoop Menon, Jagadish, and Dileesh Pothan playing other pivotal roles.
