Bhalchandra Kadam, popularly known by the name of Bhau Kadam, has been a well-known face in Marathi Film Industry. He is mostly known for his comedy, which has amazed audiences for years. Bhau Kadam started his acting career in 1991. He has acted in 9 serials and over 500 drama shows. He is named among the best comedy actors in the Marathi industry. His well-known standup comedy show, Fu Bai Fu, which aired on Zee Marathi, was a blockbuster hit. Bhau Kadam was also seen in a crucial role in the TV serial, Chala Hawa Yeu Dya, alongside Nilesh Sable. This also aired on Zee Marathi. In today’s era, regional actors aspire to work in the Hindi film and TV industry. Marathi actors like Bharat Ganeshpure and Sagar Karande have already worked in Hindi shows. Actor Kushal Badrike recently started working in the Hindi TV industry too. Bhau Kadam is, however, an exception. He has reportedly rejected an offer from a Hindi show.
Bhau Kadam himself revealed the reason behind declining the Hindi show in a recent interview. He said, “Yes, earlier I got a chance to work in a Hindi reality show, but I told them that I cannot stop doing comedy. I do comedy shows here (Marathi TV) and would love to continue it there too.”
When asked about the real reason behind his rejection, he said: “The reason behind my rejection was different. As the show Chala Hawa Yeu Dya concluded, I needed a break. I needed a week or two to relax, so I told them to wait but then I realised that adapting to new things takes time. As I was not familiar with the people there I needed time to adjust accordingly. Here I can work freely as I mostly work with my friends and known faces but this would not be the scenario there.”
Bhau Kadam added that he is happy working in Marathi TV. He said he would have felt like he was staying in a different house, had he worked in that Hindi show. “I enjoy working here more, and that is the reason I said no to them,” said Bhau Kadam.
